2013 - 2015
Work began in autumn 2013, when workers felled the trees found on the site of the future welcome pavilion.The ground was then excavated, and a secant piled wall was installed (May 2014) after the earth was carried away (May-September 2014).
Scaffolding was also placed along part of the museum walls, allowing workers to begin cleaning the facade in August 2014.
Meanwhile, inside the museum building, work is in full swing: walls, elevators and heaters are being taken down, while preparatory work for the restoration of marble, stone, and showcases is ongoing.
The structure of the new welcome pavilion and underground gallery should was watertight by mid-2015.
